Uses & Info

PureOxy Life food-grade hydrogen peroxide is intended for the uses described on this page. We do not endorse or provide instruction for internal or medical use. Always dilute concentrate before use and follow the directions for each use case below.

Household Uses

🍇Fruit & Vegetable Wash

3% Solution: Add ¼ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 gallon of cold water

 Soak fruits and vegetables for 15–20 minutes. For thicker-skinned produce, soak up to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with potable water before consumption.

For quick use, lightly spray produce with a 3% solution, allow to sit briefly, then rinse thoroughly.
*Use for surface sanitation only. Always rinse before eating. 

🥗Leftover Salad Storage

3% Solution: Mix 1 tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide with ½ cup of water.

Lightly mist salad greens before covering and refrigerating. Rinse with potable water before consumption.
*Intended for surface sanitation only. Do not consume without rinsing. 

🌱 Seed Sanitation & Sprouting

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Place seeds in a container and cover with water mixed with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Soak overnight, then drain and rinse. Repeat daily until seeds sprout.

Commonly used to sanitize seeds prior to planting.
*For gardening and planting use only. 

✨🧹Surface Cleaning & Disinfection

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

In a plastic spray bottle, use PureOxy Life 3% Hydrogen Peroxide or diluted hydrogen peroxide. Spray down kitchen and bathroom surfaces, after a couple of minutes dry surfaces or rinse.

  • Great for kitchen/bathroom counters
  • Sanitizing Children's toys.
  • Sanitizing sinks, fixtures, and toilets
  • Cleaning refrigerators and food storage areas.
  • Cutting Boards: Spray surface, wait 2-3 minutes, rinse thoroughly

*Avoid on aluminum or reactive metals.
** Caution, 3% peroxide can pressure in spray bottles, causing possible leaking from the sprayer.

👖 Laundry & Stain Removal

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Use in place of bleach. Great for whitening whites and removing tough stains, such as blood.

  • Small Loads: Use 3/4 cup of 3% Peroxide in place of bleach.
  • Large Loads: Use 1 cup of 3% Peroxide in place of bleach.

*Avoid on aluminum or reactive metals. Never mix hydrogen peroxide with bleach or vinegar. Mixing chemicals may produce hazardous reactions.
** Not recommended on silk or wool.

🦠 Mold & Mildew

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

In a plastic spray bottle, use PureOxy Life 3% Hydrogen Peroxide or diluted hydrogen peroxide.

Spray down the affected area until damp, let sit for about 10 minutes. If needed, scrub gently, then wipe surface dry.

*Avoid on aluminum or reactive metals, and porous surfaces. Wear gloves and a face mask to reduce exposure to peroxide mist and mold spores.

Initial Start-Up:

Add approximately 1 cup of 34.5% hydrogen peroxide per 500 gallons of water. Circulate water thoroughly to ensure even distribution.

Ongoing Maintenance:
Add approximately 4 ounces per 500 gallons weekly, adjusting based on bather load and direct sunlight exposure.

Hydrogen peroxide is commonly used as an oxidizer to help maintain water clarity and reduce organic buildup.

Important:
Use hydrogen peroxide in place of chlorine. Do not use together, as the two chemicals will neutralize each other and reduce effectiveness.

Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling concentrate. Do not use for personal or direct skin applications. Take caution not to spill on self, others, or the ground.

Follow all manufacturer, local, and transportation safety guidelines.

Personal Uses

➕ Minor Wound Cleaning

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Use 3% hydrogen peroxide directly from a plastic container. Rinse the affected area with clean water. Apply a small amount of 3% hydrogen peroxide to clean minor cuts, scrapes, or abrasions. Allow brief bubbling, then rinse again with water. Use only for initial cleaning. Do not use repeatedly on the same wound, as this can cause damage to the healing process.

👣 Foot Soak & Hygiene

Add 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 gallon of warm water.

Soak feet for 15–20 minutes for general hygiene and odor control. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly after soaking.

For external use only.

🙋‍♂️ Underarm Deodorizing

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Apply using a cotton pad or cloth.

Saturate a cotton pad with 3% hydrogen peroxide and apply to clean, dry underarms. Allow to air dry.

Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

🫧Oral Mouth Rinse

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Dilute equal parts 3% hydrogen peroxide and water.

Swish gently for up to 30 seconds, then spit out completely. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.

Do not swallow.

🪥 Dental Appliance & Toothbrush Sanitizing

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Use full-strength 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Place toothbrushes, retainers, or dental appliances in a plastic container. Cover with 3% hydrogen peroxide and soak for 30 minutes.

Rinse thoroughly with water before use.

✂️ Personal Care Tool Sanitizing

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Use in a soak or spray application.

Soak or spray combs, brushes, nail tools, and razors with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.

Rinse with water and allow to air dry.
Do not soak anything made from aluminum!

🧖‍♀️ Skin Freshening (External Use Only)

3% Solution (1 part 34.5% peroxide to 11 parts distilled water)

Apply with a cotton pad.

After cleansing, lightly apply 3% hydrogen peroxide to the skin using a cotton pad. Avoid eyes and sensitive areas. Rinse after brief contact.

Avoid prolonged or repeated skin exposure.

🛀Bath Soak (External Use Only)

34.5% Concentrate (added to full tub of water)

Fill the bathtub completely with warm water before adding hydrogen peroxide.

Add approximately 1 cup of 34.5% hydrogen peroxide to a full tub. Mix water gently to ensure even distribution.

Soak for a short duration as desired. Rinse skin with clean water after bathing. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas.

Timing Notice:
Some users report feeling energized after use. Avoid bathing within 2 hours before bedtime.

Additives:
Epsom salts may be added if desired. Note that salts may reduce the effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide due to chemical interaction.

Important:
Use only in a well-ventilated area. Do not add concentrate to an empty or partially filled tub. Not intended for children.

External use only. Do not ingest.

Dilution info (3% solution)

To make a standard 3% solution, mix 11 ounces of distilled water with 1 ounce of 34.5% concentrate. Always add peroxide to water, never water to peroxide. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling concentrate, and use plastic (HDPE/PET) containers only — never metal or glass.

Critical safety warnings

  • Never ingest 34.5% concentrate under any circumstance — it causes severe burns.
  • Keep concentrate away from children and pets at all times.
  • Use only food-grade product for any use involving food contact.
  • General household/personal uses should never exceed a 3% solution.

Disposal information

3% solution: may typically be poured down the drain with running water — verify local wastewater regulations first.

34.5% concentrate: dilute to 3% before disposal.

Commercial use: a neutralizing agent such as sodium sulfite or sodium metabisulfite may be used before disposal.
